Kamp Kode Privacy
Trail Guide

Our Base Camp

Our main campsite is located at https://kamp-kode.com.

Your Data: Our Most Precious Resource

At Kamp Kode, we treat your data like we treat nature – with utmost care and minimal disturbance. We only collect what’s necessary to make your coding adventure amazing. Keep in mind that some of our trails lead to third-party territories (such as Teachable for adventures, Amazon for gear, Google for some resources, and others). These providers have their own privacy guidelines for using those sites and resources, so be sure to check their trail maps too for privacy, cookie policy and terms of service.

Logging Your Travels
(Leaving Comments)

When you leave comments on our site, it’s like leaving friendly notes in a trail log. We collect what you write, plus your IP address and browser info to help us spot any digital litter (spam). If you use Gravatar, we might check for your profile picture – their privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once approved, your comment and profile picture will be visible to other campers. You are responsible for any and all comments you make and share, so as with adventures in the wilderness, please be respectful and responsible.

Digital Snapshots (Media)

If you upload images, make sure they don’t have hidden location data (EXIF GPS). We don’t want other hikers accidentally stumbling upon your secret spots! Please keep them appropriate. (No skinny-dipping!)

Trail Snacks (Cookies)

Cookies are like trail mix for your browser. They help remember your details so you don’t have to re-enter them every time. They typically last for a year, but login cookies are gone after two days (or two weeks if you select “Remember Me”). Don’t worry, these cookies are calorie-free, and you can directly manage many of them through your browser. We don’t use cookies for marketing or tracking.

Neighboring Campsites (Embedded Content)

Sometimes we set up joint expeditions with other websites. Their content on our site acts just like it would on their own campground. They might track your interactions, so be aware of their cookie use, terms of service and privacy policies too.

Sharing the Trail (Who We Share Data With)

We’re pretty solitary campers when it comes to your data. We only share if you need a password reset – then your IP address goes into the reset email.

Data Storage (How Long We Retain Your Data)

Comments are like entries in our eternal campfire stories – they stick around indefinitely. For registered users, we keep your profile info until you decide to pack up and leave.

Your Rights (What Rights You Have Over Your Data)

You’re the head ranger of your own data. You can request an export of your personal data or ask us to erase it anytime. Just remember, we might need to keep some info for legal or security reasons – think of it as leave-no-trace camping regulations.

Data Expeditions (Where Your Data Is Sent)

Sometimes we send comments through an automated spam detection service – think of it as our digital bear spray to keep the bad stuff away.

Remember, at Kamp Kode, we’re all about having fun while staying safe – both in coding and in data privacy. If you have any questions about this privacy trail guide, don’t hesitate to signal our privacy rangers!

Happy coding, and may your data always be secure!
